The effect of adding Ascorbyl Phosphate Magnesium (APM) as Vitamin C Source Toward Ovarian Maturation of Selais (Ompok rhadinurus)

Abstract


The research was conducted from  October until December at Fish Hatchery and Breeding Laboratory, Fishery and Marine Science Faculty of Riau University. The aim of this research was to know the effect of adding Ascorbyl Phosphate Magnesium (APM) on ovarian maturation of Selais (Ompok rhadinurus). APM was added to the prepared diet in different dosage: 0 mg/kg  diet, 600 mg/kg diet, 1200 mg/kg diet and 1800 mg/kg diet. The result showed in diet contained 1200 mg/kg APM on diet which performed the fastest ovarian maturation (56 days), 6.3 % of gonad somatic index, 2.4 % of ovi somatic index, 858 of number eggs ovulated, 0.8 of egg diameter.
